When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
I have been involved with Special Olympics for about 9 years. I heard about the program through a group home, and then met Maureen through friends that were involved in the program.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
Yes, these will be my first National Games.
What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?
I obtained a Bronze medal for 10 pin bowling. I felt I performed well.
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
It means meeting new friends and being happy to be invited. It also means being challenged to do my best at bowling.
What is your goal for these National Games?
To go and have fun while trying my best, and I hope to meet new friends.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
I enjoy the opportunity to try different sports and see how I enjoy them.
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
I enjoy bowling.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
Come out and have fun, meet new people, and try different sports with no pressure or judgement.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I am 47 years old. I like to have fun, hang out with new people, and improve in the sports I compete in.
