When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
I got involved about 3 years ago. a friend talked me into joining.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
Yes, these will be my first National Games.
What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?
I earned a Gold medal. I believe I can do better though.
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
I am proud to represent my province.
What is your goal for these National Games?
To do my best and hopefully win.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
My favourite Special Olympics experience has been the Provincial Games.
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
It’s fun and it’s a team sport.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
It is so much fun. It keeps you fit and you make so many friends.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I am one of the older athletes. In fact, I will be 63 at nationals. I have overcome a lot of obstacles to get to where I am today, and I am very proud. My coaches, volunteers, and teammates make me always want to try my best.
