When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

I started when I was 13, and from the last 10 years, I now play on 6 different Special Olympics sports teams: basketball, speed skating, track and field, softball, swimming, and soccer.

Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

No, this is my second National Games. I competed at the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games in Thunder Bay for speed skating in 2020.

What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?

Our softball team came first in Prince George at the BC Summer Games. I felt fine about my performance. I felt very emotional when I won.

What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?

I really enjoy spending time with my teammates, coaches, and other staff.

What is your goal for these National Games?

My goal is to pitch more often, to hit some home runs, and for my team to come first.

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

Going to Thunder Bay and Prince George were my favourite experiences. In Prince George, I got to enjoy playing the softball games outside in nature. And in Thunder Bay, I really enjoyed the speed skating tournament.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

Softball is my favourite because I like the guys on my team and I really like to bat.

What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?

I would tell people to come and join because you have lots of fun, you get to experience a bunch of different sports, and you get to improve at them.

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

Sports are important to me and I like to coach as well. I also like to go to the gym and lift weights.
