When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

I have been involved with Special Olympics since 2011. I started with basketball and floor hockey. I now compete in 6 sports: basketball, floor hockey, floorball, swimming, track and field, and golf.

Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

This will be my third National Games. I competed in 2014 at the SO Canada Summer Games in Vancouver, BC playing basketball, and again in 2020 at the Winter Games in Thunder Bay, ON playing floor hockey.

What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?

I won a bronze medal (800m), silver medal (Shot Put), and another silver medal (Javelin). I was very happy about my performance and really enjoyed the games.

What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?

I am honored to be part of this team, and to be able to represent my province. I love having a goal and the opportunity to improve my performance.

What is your goal for these National Games?

To be successful, win medals, make new friends, and try to get to Special Olympics Worlds.

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

I really enjoy the opening and closing ceremonies, and meeting other Special Olympics Athletes.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

I have previously competed in team events at the National Games. I like athletics as it is an individual sport and a great challenge.

What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?

Special Olympics has helped me make new friends, and it keeps me healthy and fit.

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

I have lived in North Vancouver all my life. Outside of Special Olympics, I enjoy snowboarding, wake boarding and taking my dog for walks. I work part time and take classes at Simon Fraser University.
