When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
In 2016, I joined the Kelowna swim team.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
I had the privilege of representing Team BC at the Canada Summer Games last year, but this is my first time attending Special Olympics Canada Games.
What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?
I won 3 Gold medals and placed 4th in 2 events. I was disappointed to be disqualified in my 100m individual medley, but have been working hard to swim a clean race at Nationals.
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
I am very proud to be representing Team BC at Nationals, and it and gives me the opportunity to see the results of my hard work.
What is your goal for these National Games?
My goal is to try to beat my personal best times, and to enjoy the experience.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
My favourite experience was representing Team BC at the 2025 Canada Summer Games in St. John’s, Newfoundland last year.
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
I like being able to compete with myself and set my own personal goals. I’ve also loved being in the water. I find that it calms me.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
Special Olympics is a great way to pursue your dreams and achieve anything.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I have Black Belt in Kung Fu, and I play soccer, golf, and floorball. I am a huge hockey fan, and I got to meet Carey Price.
