When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
In 2012/13, I started in rhythmic gym, but soon found track, and that was what I wanted to do. I love to run.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
Yes, this will be my first time. I have not been to a SO Canada Games. I have been to two Canada Summer Games: Niagara 2022, and Newfoundland 2025. I did athletics,100m and 200m.
What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?
100m, 200m, 400m were all Silver - 2nd place. I think that I did a good job, and was happy.
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
I am happy to have achieved the honour to be invited to my first Nationals.
What is your goal for these National Games?
I want to try my hardest to get a Gold medal and to beat my personal best.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
Receiving 2 Bronze medals in Newfoundland and wearing the BC flag with my friends on the podium.
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
I like how I feel strong when I run, and I like to be competing.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
You get to make new friends, travel, learn new skills, have fun, and feel included.
