How has your life changed since getting involved with Special Olympics?

My life has changed for the better since getting involved with Special Olympics.  I came out of my shell, I started a career as Transit Fare Enforcement Officer in 2006, I have a son who is 15 years old.  None of this would be possible without Special Olympics.

How would you describe Special Olympics to someone who is thinking becoming and athlete or volunteer?

To someone who is thinking about becoming an athlete or a volunteer, you won’t look back.  This WILL change your life for the better.  Special Olympics will help you come out of your shell and you will feel great!

What is your goal for Special Olympics Canada Summer Games Medicine Hat 2026?

My goal for the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games is to do exceptionally well and qualify for the 2027 Special Olympics World Summer Games.

What is your proudest moment with Special Olympics?

My proudest moment with Special Olympics is representing Team Canada with my coach Zak Klein in the 2015 World Summer Games in Los Angeles.

What does being a part of a team mean to you?

To me, being part of a team means camaraderie, family like dynamics and fun!

How do you prepare mentally and/or physically for a big competition?

To prepare mentally and physically for big competitions I like to train multiple times a week and listen to music.
