When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

I got involved in 2012 for volunteer hours. I quickly became head coach and my first swim competition was Provincials 2013. My second competition was Nationals 2014.

Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games were you part of and in what role(s)?

This will be my second. First one was 2014 in  Vancouver.

What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?

I am excited to have been chosen to attend National Summer Games. I am honored to be a coach on this team.

What is/are your goal(s) for National Games?

To experience new challenges, to step outside my comfort zone, and to grow and develop into a better coach.

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

Being on Team BC in 2014.

What does competing at National Games mean to your athletes? (Or, if this is your first National Games, competition in general)

It's a huge accomplishment. They're unsure what to expect, but are excited for the opportunity.

What developments are you excited to see in your Team BC sport team leading up to National Games?

I'm excited to become a cohesive, collaborative team.

What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?

It's a rewarding, long term addiction. You can have the worst day, but attending practice can melt that all away.
