When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

I started in 2005. I used to be with SOBC Richmond local until 4 years ago when I moved to Nanaimo.

Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

This will my 3rd SO Canada Games. My first was in 2014 (Vancouver), then 2018 (Antigonish), and now 2026 (Medicine Hat), all for swimming.

What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?

Out of 5 races, I earned 2 Gold medals in 800m freestyle and 50m breaststroke and 3 Silver medals in 200m Individual medley, 200m breaststroke, and 100m breaststroke. I was happy to get through my races and my Mom and Dad gave me the new Nintendo.

What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?

I like to travel so being able to be a part of SO Team BC 2026, I will be able to see Medicine Hat, Alberta, and of course proud to represent BC.

What is your goal for these National Games?

I will try my hardest to swim best times.

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

Being part of the swimming squads for SO Team BC at the 2013 Canada Games and SO Canada at the 2015 SO World Games where I got all golds for all my events.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

Swimming, according to my parents, is good for my body and is a life skill.

What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?

It is a community where you can have friends and a sense of belonging.

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

I can play the piano. I love Lego and SMG4. My favorite SMG4 character is Meggy.
