When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
I started with Special Olympics BC in 2024 as Marketing Manager.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games were you part of and in what role(s)?
This will be my first Special Olympics Canada Games.
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
To be part of SO Team BC 2026 is an incredible opportunity to see firsthand the talent, skill, and passion of Special Olympics athletes at this level. Their energy and dedication to their sport, their team, and their community are always palpable – and on the national stage, it will be next level! Reaching this point is no small feat for them, and with such supportive coaches, volunteers, and cheerleaders by their side, this is an experience I’m excited to be part of and to cheer them on as they continue to grow and achieve new successes on this journey.
What is/are your goal(s) for National Games?
My first goal for National Games is to learn as much as possible from the entire team – coaches, mission staff, and athletes. There is so much experience and talent in this group! It's already been so eye-opening from behind the scenes to see how much goes into organizing and supporting SO Team BC, and there is plenty more to learn from those who have been before and from those who are also experiencing their first National Games. Finding ways to share as many incredible stories from SO Team BC as possible with the community of supporters cheering them all on from across BC is a very close second.
