When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
I got involved with Special Olympics when I was skating with the North Surrey Skating Club back in 2004 or so.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
I was in St. Albert 2012 Canada Winter Games and in the 2020 Winter Games in Thunder Bay in figure skating.
What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?
I felt I did a great job. I got 2 bronze medals at the Games.
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
I am very happy to be part of the team and I am practicing hard and want to do my best!
What is your goal for these National Games?
To do my best and have fun and meet new people.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
I won bronze at both the St. Albert and the Thunder Bay Games and I was very proud of myself.
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
I love to be artistic and love doing the rhythmic gymnastics.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
It is a lot of fun, you learn lots, there are great coaches and you meet lots of wonderful people!
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I like to keep busy. I work 2 days a week at the White Spot, I volunteer once a week at an elementary school and one day a week at a thrift store and I do swimming, golf, track and field and rhythmic gymnastics with Special O as well as skate 2-3 times a week with the White Rock South Surrey Skating Club. I also love to get together with my school friends and we are celebrating our 15th year school reunion this year. I love to play the piano and make birthday cards for my family and friends as well as watch all the MasterChef shows, The Voice and Dancing with the Stars!
