When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
Our son started with Special Olympics about 10 years ago and does most other sports as well now.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games were you part of and in what role(s)?
No. I was a coach for the Vancouver bowling team at the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games Calgary in 2024.
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
I feel a sense of pride to be part of such an amazing organization, and I am looking forward to supporting not only my athlete, but all Team BC team members and staff.
What is/are your goal(s) for National Games?
To support my athlete to help create a situation where he can have the best games experience possible.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
Watching our athletes compete and experiencing the spirit and commitment that they put forward.
What does competing at National Games mean to your athletes? (Or, if this is your first National Games, competition in general)
Pride.
What developments are you excited to see in your Team BC sport team leading up to National Games?
Our athletes' personal growth through sport.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
Please get involved with Special Olympics. Your heart and soul will thank you.
