When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

I first joined for swimming with Special Olympics in 2003. My friend swam in the program and I loved swimming, so I joined.

Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

Yes, these will be my first Canada Games.

What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?

I earned 2 Silver medals - one in the singles division and one for the high scratch game. I was calm and I felt proud.

What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?

It means supporting my teammates and having fun together. I am proud to be from British Columbia and represent my province.

What is your goal for these National Games?

I want to have fun, meet new people, and win a Gold medal.

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

My most memorable and special moment since joining Special Olympics was lighting the cauldron to begin the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games in Prince George.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

I like getting high scores. I like getting strikes and spares. I have a lot of fun with my team.

What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?

You get to meet a lot of people, athletes and coaches, and make new friends. Sometimes you get to travel to competitions and you get better at sports.

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

I participate in seven Special Olympics sports - 10 pin bowling, swimming, golf, curling, powerlifting, club fit and soccer. This year, I am also going to join bocce. I work at 7-11. I make coffee and keep the Slurpee station tidy.
My mom, sisters, aunts and uncles are all coming to Medicine Hat to cheer on me and Team BC.
