When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
I have been with SOBC for three years. I was looking for opportunities to serve my community.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games were you part of and in what role(s)?
This is my first National Games.
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
I love being part of a team that cohesively works to create opportunities for our athletes to shine. I look forward to supporting the dedicated coaches and fantastic athletes as they bring their talent to the national stage.
What is/are your goal(s) for National Games?
To see how Special Olympics support our athletes in a National Level. I look forward to supporting my Aquatics Team on this journey to the National Games.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
Unbelievably fantastic.
What does competing at National Games mean to your athletes? (Or, if this is your first National Games, competition in general)
It is a recognition of their dedication and skills. To be able to show the Nation that they have earned a place at the table.
What developments are you excited to see in your Team BC sport team leading up to National Games?
To monitor the progress and the build of the relationships between all sections of the team.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
SOBC provides a safe place for our athletes to participate in sport. Every person is welcome and encouraged to find a sport they can participate in. It also provides social avenues to build relationships and friendships. As a volunteer, the joy we see in our athletes is the most rewarding experience.
