When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
In 1992, I got involved in Special Olympics through alpine skiing and to meet more people.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
No. ALPINE SKIING: 1996 - Calgary, AB; 2000 - Ottawa, ON; 2008 - Quebec City, QC; 2013 - Jasper, AB; 2016 - Corner Brook, NL; 2020 - Thunder Bay, ON; 2024 - Calgary, AB.
GOLF: 2018 - Antigonish, NS; 2022 - Games cancelled due to COVID; Named to Team Canada for 2026 in Medicine Hat, AB.
What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?
GOLF - Level 5 - Gold
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
It is an honour to be chosen to compete in a sport I love and work hard at.
What is your goal for these National Games?
My goal is to do the best I can and hopefully win another medal for BC.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
I can't pick 1.
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
The athletes and coaches I've met and talk to from year to year.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
Special Olympics is an important part of my life, I have met so many people and been able to do so many things. And if you want – you can too. It also gives me many sports to enjoy during the years and keeps me healthy.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I have 2 jobs – Staples & Home Depot where I meet lots of friends. I love to watch hockey & the BCJHL Cranbrook Bucks.
