When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
I have spent years watching the Special Olympics golf program at my local golf range. One day, a volunteer saw me hit a bucket of golf balls. Two years later, he finally convinced me to try out for the golf program. It's a funny but true story.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
This will be my first Canada Games. The sport I am playing is golf.
What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?
I was very nervous playing competitive golf for the first time. I think I did very well at the Summer Games.
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
It means taking new opportunities and making new friends.
What is your goal for these National Games?
My goal is to play the best of my ability and to inspire more female athletes to play golf competitively.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
My favourite experience was when my golf team was at Aspen for the Summer Games, we were all just having fun hanging out and having a good laugh.
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
I like it because it is challenging sport physical and mentally.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
I would tell them to have an open mind and take the opportunity to try new things.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
Everyone calls me the snack queen. I am always munching on snacks, even while I am playing golf. The best thing about golf bags is that they have many pockets with zippers for me to store my snacks in.
