When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
I got involved through my parents at first and then someone I knew who was already part of Special Olympics.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
I competed in the Special Olympics National Summer Games in Brandon, Manitoba in 2006, London, Ontario in 2010, and Vancouver, BC in 2014 for swimming, and the National Winter Games in 2012 in Saint Albert, Alberta and 2020 in Thunder Bay, Ontario for curling.
What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?
I got 4 Gold medals and 2 Silver medals in swimming at the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games in Prince George.
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
I am happy to be part of a team and be with people and cheer them on.
What is your goal for these National Games?
I hope to win as many medals as I can, so that I can go to the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Chile next year.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
My favourite Special Olympics experience was in Athens, Greece at the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games. It was cool being in Greece, going to Rhodes Island, being on the ferry, seeing the Acropolis and the Parthenon, and having a good time.
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
I enjoy swim competition and getting medals at the games and seeing everybody.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
I would encourage you to get involved and get into sports and be with friends. Special Olympics is a good organization, and we do fundraising.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I am a good swimmer and I like getting better as a swimmer. I like being involved with special Olympics and doing different sports.
