How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?

How has your life changed since getting involved with Special Olympics?

Special Olympics has changed my life in many ways. It has allowed me to participate in sports and compete. It has given me the opportunity to attend Provincial Games. I have made many friends and connections through Special Olympics.

How would you describe Special Olympics to someone who is thinking becoming and athlete or volunteer?

I would tell them that is is one of the best things you can do. Special Olympics is more than just an organization. It is a community that connects individuals with developmental disabilities to competitive sports and social opportunities. It can have a very positive impact on your life.

What is your goal for Special Olympics Canada Summer Games Medicine Hat 2026?

This will be my first National Games. I hope my team can win and have the opportunity to advance to World Games! I am proud to represent the entire Province of BC at National Games. I hope to meet many new friends from across Canada.

What is your proudest moment with Special Olympics?

In my second year of Special Olympics, I qualified for my first Provincial Games in Soccer. This was my first Provincial Games and it meant so much to me.

What does being a part of a team mean to you?

Being part of a team means so much. I have known my teammates for many years. We have shared my happy moments as well as disappointment. To succeed as a team we all have to work together, support each other and cover each others backs.

How do you prepare mentally and/or physically for a big competition?

I prepare by training and working hard. I prepare by practicing. I work on my fitness.
