When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

I got a friend invite to watch a sport practice, and I was interested, then I have been in Special Olympics for a long time.

Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

Yes, this is my first National Games!

What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?

It didn’t turn out very well, I was very tired, nervous, frustrated, overwhelmed and I wasn’t feeling well. I also didn’t get enough practice before performing!

What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?

I am shy so meeting new friends is a liltle hard for me. I like doing my sports and I feel good after practice!!

What is your goal for these National Games?

Try to do my best in my performances as I get nervous when I go on the floor, and try to be better than what I was at summer games!!

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

I like learning new routines and having practices every week.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

I love my sport and seeing friends who live in different cities.

What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?

You will have a lot of fun, get to meet new friends and you do fundraising in your local!!

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

I am a shy person
I am a fun and friendly person.
I get along with people well!!
I work full time, I like to do arts, crafts and listening to music!
I’m also in other sports: both winter & spring club-fit, bocce, currently in gymnastics and did snowshoeing when we had it.
