When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
I got involved over 23 years ago. It has been so long that I don't remember how it began!
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
Yes, these will be my first Canada Games.
What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?
I received 2 Silver medals and 1 Gold medal. I was very happy with how I did.
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
It feels really good to be part of a team. We get to be together and all work towards the same goal.
What is your goal for these National Games?
To win! I would like to have some new friendships as well.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
The BC Summer Games was one of my favourite experiences, and I was glad that I got to use my own ball.
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
Being part of the 10 pin bowling team and always trying to get a better score to show that I am improving.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
I would tell someone that it’s really good to be part of a team, and that you get a chance to meet new people.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I work at Starbucks part-time and I love coffee! I like to make people feel special on their birthdays and make them birthday cards. I also really like Betty Boop.
