When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
After being part of the Best Buddies program at my high school and furthering my education with a Bachelors of Physical Education & Coaching, I knew I wanted to be part of a sport organization that made a difference in peoples' lives. So when the opportunity came up to work for Special Olympics BC, I jumped at the chance!
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games were you part of and in what role(s)?
Yes, this will be my first Special Olympics Canada Games.
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
Being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 means that I get to see all of our athletes' hard work come to fruition!
What is/are your goal(s) for National Games?
My goal for the National Games is to support teams as much as possible so that athletes and coaches can focus on competing and having fun!
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
My favourite Special Olympics experience to date was attending a Regional Qualifier for 5-pin bowling! It was so exciting to see the strategy, power, and community.
What does competing at National Games mean to your athletes? (Or, if this is your first National Games, competition in general)
Competing at the National Games means that they get to be recognized on a National stage for all of the hard work and time put into their sport!
What developments are you excited to see in your Team BC sport team leading up to National Games?
I am excited to see the team spirit building! Go Team BC!
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
If you love feeling the joy of sport, then Special Olympics is the place for you!
