When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
I joined Hong Kong Special Olympics in swimming in 2008. When I moved to Canada in 2021, I registered myself to continue the training practice in Vancouver. At the moment, I belong to the Burnaby team.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
This is the first SO Canada Games for me.
What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?
I got 1 Gold medal in 25m freestyle, 1 Silver medal in 50m breast stroke, and 1 Silver medal in 25m butterfly.
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
When I was told that I was chosen to represent BC to participate at the National Games, I was shocked in the beginning. Well, it is such a great honour and glory to have this opportunity. I will definitely try my best to show the people that I can do well.
What is your goal for these National Games?
My key words: never give up and keep moving forward!
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
I enjoy swimming with my teammates!
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
Swimming can give me a chance to challenge myself.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
Special Olympics can help you explore your potentials.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I like sports very much. I find that doing sports can help challenge my limits. In order to strengthen my physical body, I go to the gym every day and I do taekwondo regularly. Besides sports, I work in a thrift shop being a volunteer. I enjoy helping people.
