When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
I got involved in the fall of 1998 through a family friend and neighbour.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
No, but it will be my first Canada Games for 10 pin bowling. I went to Nationals in Newfoundland, Thunder Bay, Ottawa, Quebec, and St. Albert for cross country skiing. I have also been to one World Games in Alaska.
What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?
I won 2 Silver and 1 Bronze. I am surprised that I won any medals because I am still learning about 10 pin bowling.
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
I am proud to wear the Team BC uniform.
What is your goal for these National Games?
To do my best.
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
Going to the World Games for skiing and then coming home to repack my suitcase to go where it was hotter.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
I would say that it is a family, you get better at your sports, and you meet wonderful coaches.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
My other sports I do are swimming, golf, and club fit. I used to do cross country skiing track and field. I am a Prince George Cougars fan. On Mondays, I take an elderly blind man out to do his errands with two other Special Olympians. I am on the Athlete Leadership Council. I also volunteer at my church to prepare lunch bags for those in need.
