When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
I got involved with Special Olympics almost 10 years ago when a friend told my mom about it.
Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, what other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
Yes, and I am so excited!
What were your results in the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games? How did you feel about your performance?
I felt like a did a great job with my performance. I won 5 medals (3 gold and 2 silver).
What does being part of Special Olympics Team BC 2026 mean to you?
It's an honour to be chosen to be part of this team and a great personal achievement. I am looking forward to supporting and cheering on all my teammates.
What is your goal for these National Games?
I have a few goals:
I would like to meet athletes from all across Canada
I want to be a positive role model for my team
I want to do my very best and hopefully win some medals (and make it to Worlds!)
What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?
I loved travelling to Prince George with my coaches and teammates and participating in the opening ceremonies. It was exciting to see so many athletes from all different regions. The highlight was definitely winning my medal!!
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
I love the music for the routines that I perform.
What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?
I would tell them that it's a great way to meet lots of people and make some friends. It's also a fun way to stay fit and learn some new skills.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I have tried other sports that Special Olympic offers. This year besides rhythmic gymnastics, I participated in curling and will be trying bocce for the first time.
