From the 2014-2018 SOBC Strategic Plan:
"In the past, Special Olympics BC was considered 'nice' – nice events run by nice people. Special Olympics BC should no longer be thought of as just 'nice' – it is important. It is important to the athletes whose lives have been enhanced. It is important to family members who see their loved ones grow and develop to new heights. It is important to communities that benefit from inclusion in ways not seen in the past.
"As we look to the future, we see how much more needs to be done and what great opportunities are before us. The strategic plan for Special Olympics BC builds on years of evolution, learning, and successes, and challenges our base of champions – athletes, volunteers, families and friends, government, sponsors, donors, youth and seniors, sport bodies, and everybody to reach further."
