Staples Canada and Special Olympics
In 2016, Staples Canada and Special Olympics Canada are celebrating their 20th year of partnership. Through two decades of support, the Staples Give a Toonie Share a Dream campaign has raised more than $7 million for Canada’s Special Olympics athletes, including more than $750,000 for SOBC athletes.
About the Give a Toonie Share a Dream campaign
Staples Canada continued their amazing support of Special Olympics programs across the country with their 16th annual Give a Toonie Share a Dream campaign, which ran from May 7 to June 5, 2016. During the campaign, Staples customers made dreams happen by donating in stores and online at Staples.ca/ShareADream.
During the campaign, Staples customers enjoyed meeting Special Olympics athletes, coaches, and volunteers at their local stores, and having fun at special events such as barbecues and other fundraising activities.
We are very grateful to all the Staples stores, staff, and customers in B.C. for their amazing support, and to the athletes and volunteers throughout their province who give great time and energy to help make this important campaign a success!
Staples Softball Tournament
Each year in June, softball teams comprised of Staples employees and Special Olympics BC athletes compete in a friendly day-long tournament at the Riverway Sports Complex in Burnaby. Awards are given out not only to the top team, but also to the teams with the most spirit and sportsmanship. Thanks to Staples and all of the employees who never fail to come out in droves to participate in this inspiring day.
