WELCOME TO SPECIAL OLYMPICSBC
Since 1980, Special Olympics BC (SOBC), a registered
charitable organization, has provided high-quality sports programs
and competitions to meet the needs and interests of individuals
with intellectual disabilities, enriching lives, and celebrating
personal achievement through positive sport experiences. Today,
over 3,500 athletes participate in Special Olympics
BC sports programs in 55 communities across
British Columbia.
As a grassroots, volunteer-based organization, Special Olympics
BC relies on the support and dedication of over 2,400
volunteer coaches, administrators, and event volunteers in order to
fulfill our mandate.
Volunteering with Special Olympics BC is an
opportunity for you to make a direct impact on the quality of life
of individuals with intellectual disabilities, and an opportunity
for you to make a meaningful contribution within your
community.
