Special Olympics Figure Skating features impressive feats of
strength, precision, artistry, and the interpretation of rhythm and
tempo of music through dance steps on the ice.
Figure skating is one the few judged Special Olympics sports. As
in all Special Olympics sports, athletes are grouped in competition
divisions according to ability level, age, and gender.

Special Olympics Figure Skating was first included in the 1977
Special Olympics World Winter Games.

Today, 2,846 athletes from 49 Special Olympics Programs compete
in figure skating.
