2016 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games

Dates: March 1 to 5, 2016

Participants: More than 950 delegation members from Canada's 10 provinces and two of three territories, including 670 athletes, 208 coaches, and 75+ mission staff.

Sports: Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, curling, floor hockey, figure skating, snowshoeing, speed skating

First time the National Games will be held in Newfoundland and Labrador.

“We are thrilled that Corner Brook will host the 2016 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games,” said Len Moores, Chair of the Games Organizing Committee for the 2016 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games. “Sport, volunteerism, and hospitality are important to the people of Corner Brook. We look forward to sharing our city with Special Olympics athletes from across the country in 2016.”
