The 2018 Special Olympics Canada Bowling Championships have been full of excitement, achievement, and fun for Special Olympics Team BC 2018 5- and 10-pin bowlers! All their hard work and preparation paid off, with many athletes performing exceptionally well and reaching new personal bests.

Team BC will travel across the country tomorrow with a haul of hardware as they bring back nine gold medals, eight silver medals, and 14 bronze medals!

Bowling alleys throughout P.E.I. continue to be packed with friends, family, and local fans as supporters cheer on athletes from across the country at the 2018 Special Olympics Canada Bowling Championships!

“There’s a lot of energy in there!” said SOBC – Quesnel coach Ellen Martz. “It’s fantastic to feed off of.”

The support continues outside of the venues, with many local businesses welcoming the athletes with signs and residents greeting and congratulating bowlers as they explore the community.

Second day of competition brings impressive scores and wonderful memories for Team BC

It was another great day at the 2018 Special Olympics Canada Bowling Championships for Team BC 5- and 10-pin bowlers, with athletes hitting their stride on the lanes and making lasting memories of their East Coast experience.

Bowlers continue to be in great form with many achieving game scores to be proud of, as well as a bronze medal in the 10-pin doubles tournament!

Team BC 5- and 10-pin bowlers had a wonderful day on the lanes at the 2018 Special Olympics Canada Bowling Championships!

The first day of competition saw many athletes performing well above their averages, and resulted in a silver and bronze medal for Team BC in the 10-pin bowling team competition!

Special Olympics BC – Trail coach Jacob Plett said the atmosphere in the University of Prince Edward Island gymnasium was “electric” this morning as he walked into the Opening Ceremony for the 2018 Special Olympics Canada Bowling Championships with other members of Team BC 2018

The coach for the Port Alberni Alley Oops 5-pin bowling team, Plett says the squad is “so excited” to get underway with the Bowling Championships.

Special Olympics BC bowling athletes from around the province are ready to hit the lanes in Prince Edward Island at the 2018 Special Olympics Canada Bowling Championships from May 15 to 19! Team BC Training Squad 5- and 10-pin bowlers have been working hard and putting to use tips they learned at their training camp in November.

Members of the Team BC 2018 Training Squad have kicked off the year with hard work and high spirits! Training camps for seven sports were held in January, giving athletes important opportunities to practice their skills and pick up tips to help them be at their best for the 2018 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Nova Scotia this July.
