Unstoppable Together
Each gift makes Special Olympics Team BC unstoppable.
Right now, more than 240 athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities are training and preparing to represent British Columbia with pride at National Games from August 11 to 15. With athletes from more than 42 communities across B.C., every cheer from home helps power their unstoppable journey!
It takes the strength of an entire community to send Special Olympics Team BC to the starting line – and this is the moment that they need support most. Athletes are training hard, fueled by hope and determination, alongside nearly 100 dedicated volunteer coaches and mission staff who believe deeply in their potential. But rising transportation and equipment costs continue to stand in the way. With your help, these barriers are broken and opportunity takes their place.
When you give, you make the dream of competing on the national stage into a reality.
Help unstoppable athletes like Meliah!
Powerlifter Meliah Motchman is getting ready to take the stage in Medicine Hat this summer. After 16 impressive years of training and competing, it will be her debut at a Special Olympics Canada Summer Games.
“I feel powerful and [competing] makes me feel happy and proud. I want to do my very best in Medicine Hat for my teammates, coaches, family, and friends because they all make me happy.”
